Hidden Gems: Meet Tiffany Williams of Ladies of Richmond

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiffany Williams.

Hi Tiffany, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I quit my job as a Consultant at McKinsey two years ago with a very specific vision: get to California, land one of those sexy jobs working with creators and experiential brands. After about a year, that chapter closed and I came back home to the suburbs to figure out the next move.

One morning I was sitting alone at a coffee shop and thought, “it would be really nice if someone was here with me.” I was deep in learning AI at the time, so I used that moment to do what any curious person would do — I used my AI twin to help me express what I was feeling. I put out that I was organizing a meetup. The ladies wanted in.

Twenty women showed up to our first Coffee Meetup in December 2024. Four months later, 500 women had raised their hand and said they wanted in too. Six weeks after that, we doubled. Today, over 1,300 women in our area have said yes to community — and all I was ever doing was solving my own problem.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
There have been a lot of learnings I never anticipated. The biggest one personally has been the emotional weight of it. Every thank you, every expression of gratitude, every moment a woman in this community chooses to be vulnerable — it gets me every time. Nobody prepares you for that part.

On the business side, the challenge has been finding peers who are in it with me. There’s a lot of guidance available if you can pay for it, but what I really want is someone who has been through this specific journey — building a community from the ground up, navigating the business side of it, figuring out how to grow without giving up equity. Those conversations are harder to find than you’d think. I’m still working on building that circle for myself, which is honestly a little ironic given what I do.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Ladies of Richmond is a women’s community built for the suburbs of Houston — Richmond, Katy, Sugar Land, Fulshear, and the surrounding areas. At the core, it’s a place for women to find other women to do life with. That means finding a happy hour buddy, someone to learn pickleball with, a skating partner, a mom to set up a playdate with.

What sets us apart is that this is not a networking group in the traditional sense. Relationships here are not transactional. There are no sales pitches, no pressure to show up as anything other than yourself. It’s also not something I built for women — it’s something women are actively building together. The real magic happens inside the group chat, where members are not just attending events I plan, they are planning events for each other. I created the container. The women filled it.

For anyone who is curious and wants to meet some of our ladies before joining, we host a monthly Happy Hour and a monthly Walk and Talk — both open to anyone in the area. It’s a low-pressure way to walk into a room, meet real women, and see for yourself what this community feels like.
What I’m most proud of? Myself, honestly — and I say that humbly. I’m proud of every woman who stepped outside her comfort zone to show up. I’m proud that we are quietly stimulating the local economy. Our ladies have a literal line item in their budgets now for going out. That means something

Any big plans?
The immediate focus is impact — deepening what we’ve built here and making sure the women already in this community are being served well. We are actively working on our app to better serve our ladies and create a more seamless experience. And on the horizon, we’re focused on securing sponsorships and partnerships to bring really incredible experiences to our community — the kind of events that feel curated, intentional, and worth showing up for.
