Today we’d like to introduce you to Jackie Chaney.
Hi Jackie, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I am a self taught baker from a young age, I’ve enjoyed baking and cooking. I also work full time in Corporate. The catalyst that really drove my desire to get more involved in my passion for baking was over time the unbearable toxic environment corporate breeds. and knowing I wanted better for myself The toxicity of the people around me, the corporate lingo, the “leadership” that was miserable, I know I wanted more for myself and doing what makes me happy. I got more determined to one day leave the place that was sucking my soul dry and not living another day wasted, I decided to just go for it and leapt out on blind faith by making baked goods. My desire one day is to fully be able to leave corporate life forever, inspire others who may feel trapped and want more for themselves, and live my life in happiness doing what I enjoy doing. My dream is to grow my business and that my business grows in a way that is self sustaining, financially freeing, and helps to open doors for others.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I have encountered many struggles. Juggling full time work, motherhood, household duties, and overall life. Sometimes the day to day of working full time left me drained and exhausted. Some of the struggles were internal. Self doubt, lack of time, lack of confidence; were all ways that I have struggled along the way. There will always be struggles, but I’m willing to meet those struggles doing what I enjoy doing.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a corporate professional by day for the same company for 15 years. I am a manager within my career field and work for a very well known Health/Medical corporation. I try to make the most of every day, leave people feeling better about them selves than when I first encountered them. I try to make each day better than the last.
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
