Today we’d like to introduce you to Mosaab (Orkams.Co) Ali.
Hi Mosaab (Orkams.Co), can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Growing up in Houston, I was always drawn to creativity, even if I didn’t realize where it would eventually lead me. I’ve always enjoyed documenting moments, whether that was through sports, photography, or simply observing the people around me. Over time, that curiosity turned into Orkams Co., where I focus on telling stories through photography and visual content rather than just taking pictures.
My path wasn’t a straight line. Alongside building my creative work, I’ve worked in the geosynthetics and construction industry as a QA/QC manager and have spent years coaching tennis. At first glance, those worlds seem completely unrelated, but they’ve taught me the same lessons: discipline, consistency, attention to detail, and the importance of building genuine relationships. Those experiences have shaped the way I approach every creative project.
Like many people, I’ve also faced seasons where I had to step back, reevaluate my direction, and figure out what truly mattered. Those moments ultimately reinforced why storytelling is so important to me. Everyone has a story that’s worth preserving, whether they’re a professional athlete, a small business owner, or someone simply chasing a dream.
Today, Orkams Co. is more than a photography brand. It’s my way of documenting ambition, creativity, and the people who inspire others through what they do. My goal is to create work that feels authentic and reminds people that the journey is often just as meaningful as the destination
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, but looking back, I wouldn’t change it.
One of the biggest challenges has been balancing multiple passions while also building a stable career. I’ve worked in the construction industry, coached tennis, and pursued photography at the same time. There were periods where creative work had to take a back seat because life demanded something else, and that was frustrating. At the time, it felt like I was moving away from my goals, but those experiences ended up giving me a broader perspective and a stronger work ethic.
I’ve also learned that comparison can be one of the biggest obstacles for any creative. It’s easy to look at someone else’s success and feel like you’re behind. Over time, I’ve realized that everyone has their own timeline, and the most important thing is continuing to improve your craft rather than chasing someone else’s path.
More recently, I’ve been learning how important balance is. Running a business, working full-time, coaching, and pursuing creative projects can be overwhelming if you’re not intentional with your time and energy. Instead of seeing those responsibilities as competing with one another, I’ve started viewing them as experiences that shape the stories I tell through my work.
Every challenge has reinforced one thing: persistence matters more than perfection. Growth rarely happens in a straight line, and I’ve learned to embrace that
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a photographer and visual storyteller based in Houston, and I’m the founder of Orkams Co. My work centers around capturing authentic moments that reflect who people are rather than creating something that feels overly posed or manufactured. Whether I’m photographing athletes, entrepreneurs, creatives, or brands, my goal is always the same: to tell stories that feel genuine and leave a lasting impression.
Outside of photography, I work full-time in the geosynthetics and construction industry as a QA/QC manager and also coach tennis. While those careers may seem unrelated, they’ve shaped the way I approach my creative work. Construction has taught me precision, organization, and attention to detail, while coaching has shown me the importance of building trust and helping people feel comfortable in front of the camera.
One thing I’m especially proud of is that Orkams Co. has grown through relationships and word of mouth. Every shoot is an opportunity to connect with someone, understand their story, and create something meaningful together. To me, photography isn’t just about taking beautiful images—it’s about preserving moments that people will look back on years from now and still feel connected to.
I think what sets me apart is my curiosity. I’m genuinely interested in people and what drives them. That mindset allows me to create images that feel personal rather than transactional. I want every client to leave feeling like they were seen, understood, and represented authentically.
What matters most to you? Why?
What matters most to me is growth, not just my own, but helping others recognize and appreciate their own journey as well.
I’ve always admired people who are willing to pursue something they’re passionate about, whether that’s an athlete training for a competition, an entrepreneur building a business from the ground up, or someone simply taking a chance on themselves. Those are the stories that inspire me, and they’re the people I’m naturally drawn to photograph.
Relationships also matter deeply to me. The best opportunities in my life have come from genuine connections, not transactions. I believe people remember how you made them feel long after they forget the details of a conversation or a photo shoot. That’s why I try to approach every client and every project with authenticity and curiosity.
Finally, I value consistency. Success is rarely the result of one big moment. It’s built through small, intentional efforts repeated over time. Whether I’m working in construction, coaching tennis, or creating through Orkams Co., I try to show up every day with that mindset. It’s helped me stay grounded and reminds me that meaningful work is a marathon, not a sprint.
