Life & Work with Kiki-Khani Lauderdale of Other

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kiki-Khani Lauderdale.

Hi Kiki-Khani , we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I am a Survivor. As a Published Author/ writer/ illustrator/ Singer and Song Writer. I told my story in a unique way in a dramatic stage-play. I had to relive my horrific experience in my book (You can’t hear hummingbirds Vol 1). I’m a Survivor of horrific child abuse I had to journey back into that difficult traumatic place and time to write the truth in true periodic detail.
I feel that sharing my horrific experience was a necessary part of my healing journey, spirituality and self-discovery. I now share my story on multiple platforms as well . I illustrated several animated series, write and sing music that heals and uplifts. I am an activist, philanthropist and I love God and thank Him daily for saving me.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
One of the biggest challenges for me while riding about my true story was reliving it. All the things that I had survived and basically put a Band-Aid on it and went about my life, trying everything in the world to forget about the things that I have been through in my childhood was tough reopening the wound, but it was necessary for me to tell the story and it’s truth and entirety. I am thankful to God for mercy and grace to get me through the tough parts and there were a lot of tough parts.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
From Victim to Victorious God’s Devine Presence blessed my path to be a transformative journey that would go beyond the reach to broader audiences and through diverse cultures. This unique background infuses every project with authenticity and a powerful, unifying vision. I am proud of the vision that God gives me and allows me to create such unique works of art that I feel sets me apart.
I specialize in creating relatable content that resonates and make it easy for others to connect with. My work is a bridge, connecting personal stories to universal human struggles and triumphs, particularly within the realm of my advocacy.
I believe everyone’s identity is, at least subconsciously, central to how they express themselves. Identity is tied to so many things including life experience, social dynamics, and family history. All of these themes impact my song-writing and creativity on its individual level. The best connection for me is my connection to The True Living God Our Lord and Savior Jesus I’m heavily invested in the Lord.

How do you define success?
I define success by doing what’s fulfilling, setting and completing goals.
