Today we’d like to introduce you to Yaunesseiona Norris.
Hi Yaunesseiona , we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I grew up facing challenges that shaped who I am today. As an adoptee, I’ve spent much of my life searching for identity, healing from childhood trauma, and turning pain into purpose. Instead of allowing my circumstances to define me, I chose to build a career rooted in creativity and resilience.
I became a successful makeup artist and educator, helping others build confidence while growing my own business. Along the way, I experienced significant personal loss, including losing both of my parents, but those experiences only strengthened my determination to create a better future for myself and my son.
Today, I’m transitioning into acting and filmmaking because storytelling has become my passion. My goal is to tell authentic stories that inspire, heal, and give a voice to people who have experienced adversity. Every setback I’ve faced has prepared me for this next chapter, and I’m committed to building a career that creates lasting impact through film and television.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely has not been a smooth road. One of my biggest challenges has been overcoming childhood trauma and navigating life as an adoptee while trying to understand my identity and purpose. I’ve also experienced the loss of both of my parents, which forced me to find strength during some of the hardest seasons of my life.
As a single mother, balancing parenthood while building a business and pursuing my dreams has required sacrifice, resilience, and faith. There have been times when I faced rejection, financial uncertainty, and people doubting my abilities. Instead of allowing those moments to stop me, I used them as motivation to work even harder.
Transitioning from a successful career in the beauty industry into acting has also been challenging because it meant starting over in a new field. I’ve had to prove myself, remain patient, and trust God’s timing. Every obstacle has strengthened my character and reminded me that my story has a greater purpose. Today, I don’t view my struggles as setbacks. I see them as the foundation of the person I’m becoming and the stories I hope to tell through film.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Be’Aura?
Be’Aura is more than a beauty brand it’s a movement centered around confidence, creativity, and self-expression. The name itself represents embracing your own aura, your own beauty, and the energy you bring into the world.
Be’Aura was created from my journey in the beauty industry. After years of experience as a makeup artist, educator, and working behind the scenes in cosmetics, I wanted to create something that felt authentic to me a brand that encourages people to care less about outside opinions and focus more on becoming the best version of themselves.
Our products are designed to help people express themselves, whether that’s through a bold look, a soft glam moment, or simply enhancing the beauty they already have. Be’Aura is about reminding people that makeup isn’t about hiding who you are it’s about highlighting your confidence and allowing your personality to shine.
My goal with Be’Aura is to build a community where everyone feels seen, inspired, and empowered to own their beauty, their story, and their aura.
Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
In the next 5 to 10 years, I see myself continuing to grow as a creator, entrepreneur, and storyteller. I see Be’Aura becoming a recognizable beauty brand that inspires people worldwide, not only through products but through the message behind the brand — confidence, self-expression, and embracing who you are.
I also see myself expanding in the entertainment industry as an actress and using my story and experiences to create opportunities for myself and others. I want to continue building a legacy that my child can be proud of something that shows that your past does not define your future.
Ultimately, I see myself as someone who is still creating, still inspiring, and still using my platform to empower others while continuing to evolve personally and professionally.
