Meet Brigitte Ortiz of Houston

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brigitte Ortiz.

Hi Brigitte , can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My name is Brigitte Ortiz, and this is my story.

When I was 13 years old, my mother and father enrolled me in a modeling and acting school. At first, I didn’t know where this journey would take me, but as I got older, I began to fall completely in love with it.

Looking back, I realize this dream was never just mine. My parents sacrificed so much time, money, and effort to help me chase my goals. They made sacrifices, supported me through every opportunity, and my siblings were always cheering me on. I will always be grateful for the love and support my family gave me, because they helped build the foundation of this journey.

And it all started with my mom believing in me and putting me in that modeling school.

I was living two lives. I was a normal high school student trying to keep my grades together while also traveling across the country for modeling, auditions, fashion shows, and opportunities. People at school would wonder why they didn’t see me very often, and eventually, more people began to discover what I was doing outside of school.

It wasn’t easy.

I had to make sacrifices that most people my age weren’t making. I traveled from New York to North Carolina, Chicago, and many other places, constantly chasing opportunities and learning what it meant to pursue a dream.

Eventually, I made it to my first New York Fashion Week.

That moment meant everything to me because I knew how much I had sacrificed to get there. I participated in the Fashion Life Tour, modeled for designers and brands, met incredible models, and made friendships with people from all over the world.

My social media began to grow, and so did my network. I was constantly traveling to fashion shows, walking runways, attending auditions, doing interviews, and building a name for myself.

Then, something incredible happened.

I was discovered by an agent and signed to be represented.

But I wanted more.

I had always loved movies, and I knew deep down that I wanted to become an actress. I wanted to build a career that combined both acting and modeling.

So I started auditioning.

And I heard “no” more times than I can count.

But I kept going.

Then one day, I received a callback for a movie called Bad Apples, directed by Steve Morris. I was 18 years old when I booked one of the lead roles, Nina, and flew to Indiana to film.

My co-stars were amazing and incredibly kind. Being on set felt like magic. I stayed up day and night filming, learning, growing, and realizing that this was exactly where I wanted to be.

Then came the moment I will never forget.

Bad Apples played in theaters.

Seeing myself on the big screen for the first time was surreal. I remember looking at myself and realizing that the little girl who dreamed about becoming an actress was finally seeing that dream come to life.

That moment confirmed something inside of me.

I wanted to be an actress.

After the movie, I continued doing photoshoots, building my social media, working with photographers, attending interviews, signing autographs, taking pictures with supporters, and creating more opportunities for myself.

Bad Apples eventually became available on Amazon Prime and Tubi, allowing even more people to see the project.

But what people don’t always see is everything that happens behind the scenes.

Becoming an actress takes sacrifice.

It takes money, time, coaching, schooling, auditions, headshots, scripts, rejection, patience, and dedication. My family sacrificed a lot for me too, and I will always be grateful for that.

There was a point in my journey when everything seemed to fall apart at once.

I lost someone I loved. My relationship ended, and a part of me felt like I was losing more than just a relationship. I was losing a piece of the life I thought I would have while I was chasing this dream.

It was one of the hardest chapters of my life because I wasn’t just grieving the loss of a relationship; I was grieving the future I had imagined.

The attention, social media, traveling, and everything that came with this career created pressure that I didn’t know how to handle. I began losing friends, too. People changed, relationships changed, and I started realizing that not everyone would understand the life I was choosing.

At the same time, I was hearing “no” over and over again.

I was low on money. I was tired. I was emotionally exhausted. There were days when I felt like I was doing everything I could and still getting nowhere.

I remember auditioning for a movie that I truly loved and wanted so badly, only to receive another “no.”

That one hurt.

I had already given so much to this dream, and for a moment, I started wondering if maybe I wasn’t meant to do it.

I was heartbroken. I was discouraged. I was tired of losing people and tired of being rejected.

I loved, and I lost.

I dreamed, and I was told no.

I sacrificed, and sometimes I wondered if the sacrifice was worth it.

But even when I felt like my life was falling apart, there was still something inside of me that refused to quit.

I realized that the lowest moments of my life weren’t the end of my story. They were becoming part of the story I would one day tell.

I had to learn how to keep going when nobody was clapping for me. I had to learn how to believe in myself when the opportunities weren’t coming. And most importantly, I had to learn that losing people didn’t mean I had lost myself.

That chapter broke my heart, but it also built me.

Now, I’m 21 years old, turning 22 soon, and I know this is only the beginning.

I have more projects coming. I’m continuing to work on myself, my career, and my dreams. I’m also currently in esthetician school, building another part of the future I envision for myself.

When I look back at everything I’ve been through, I realize that the sacrifice was worth it.

If my journey can inspire even one person to believe in themselves and chase their dreams, then everything I’ve experienced has meaning.

I want people to remember that your dreams matter.

You may hear “no.” You may lose people. You may have to sacrifice. You may question yourself. But that doesn’t mean you should stop.

Keep going.

Keep believing.

Keep becoming the person you always dreamed you could be.

By the grace of God, with the support of my family and everyone who has supported me along the way, I am able to continue doing what I love.

Thank you to everyone who has supported me and watched my journey. I see you. I see the love, encouragement, and support you give me, and I never take it for granted. I appreciate every single one of you, and I love you all.

And I’m not stopping here.

There will be more movies.
More modeling.
More content.
More dreams becoming reality.

My name is Brigitte Ortiz.

And this…

is just the beginning.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
No, it hasn’t been a smooth road. While I’ve been blessed with incredible opportunities, every step has come with sacrifices and challenges.

I’ve faced rejection, heard “no” many times, and experienced moments where I questioned whether I was on the right path. Balancing school, traveling, auditions, and building a career at a young age was not easy. I’ve also gone through personal struggles, including losing relationships, friendships changing, and learning that not everyone will understand the life I’ve chosen.

There were moments where I felt exhausted and discouraged, but those challenges taught me resilience. They taught me how to believe in myself even when things weren’t happening the way I hoped.

I’ve learned that success isn’t just about the big moments; it’s also about continuing to show up during the difficult seasons. Every challenge has shaped me, helped me grow, and reminded me why I started this journey in the first place.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
