Today we’d like to introduce you to Løtide.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
We’re four Houston guys who just wanted to make music together. David, Jesse, and Kyle came out of a band that fell apart, and later we roped Seth in. Løtide’s only been a thing since October 2025, so we’re still the new kids on the block. That being said, we’ve already played shows, dropped some singles, and we’ve got our debut album dropping this October. We’re moving fast for a baby band.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Honestly, yeah, it’s been bumpy. All of us came from a project that just kind of collapsed, and that stuff sticks with you. Starting over from zero is rough. Add in that all four of us have full-time jobs, so just getting everyone in a room is its own logistics puzzle. And then we practice in an apartment building, so half the battle is trying to not get a noise complaint.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We’re kind of our own genre soup — nu-metal, hard rock, shoegaze, all blended together. It’s not really what other newer bands are doing. You can hear the heaviness across “Jaws” the hard rock in “Waves”, the shoegaze in “Lilac”, and a blend of all in our new single “Indigo” with Lavi Bly.
The real secret sauce is that we all just naturally lock into different roles. Jesse’s the one behind most of the visuals and music videos, David and Seth handle the money and connections side, and Kyle’s usually buried in production. Nobody’s stepping on anybody’s toes – we just each run our own lane, which is probably why we get so much done in so little time.
What makes you happy?
We make music because putting new songs and sounds out into the world is something that makes us happy. With AI-generated music on the rise, it feels like real, human-made stuff is starting to fall by the wayside. The best way to fight that is by continuing to make stuff that’s unique and original, and we’re happy to be part of that.
