Exploring Life & Business with King Duah of Royal Nation Films

Today we’d like to introduce you to King Duah.

King, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I am a writer, filmmaker, and cinematographer from New Orleans whose creative journey began in music and songwriting. His passion for storytelling expanded into writing poetry and songs across multiple genres, helping me develop a distinctive creative voice.

A graduate of the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts (NOCCA), where I studied Creative Writing, I also gained performance experience by acting in several stage productions. My background in writing, music, and performance eventually led me into podcasting, filmmaking, and visual storytelling.

Today, through Royal Nation Films, I bring creative visions to life as a writer, director, cinematographer, and filmmaker. I create character-driven films, documentaries, television projects, and digital content with an authentic, cinematic style rooted in storytelling, culture, and real-life experiences.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
After surviving a life-threatening illness and undergoing major surgery, my faith in God carried me through the recovery process. Following this experience, I filmed a short documentary about my testimony.

This project inspired me to pursue filmmaking further. My goal is to create impactful documentaries and films that inspire people and provoke thoughtful reflection
