Today we’d like to introduce you to Jacy Cooper and Kady Smalley.
Pronounced Sèt-te, it is defined in Italian as the number “seven”, but symbolic for the two sisters as “the time and space between us.” (Jacy and Kady).
Kady has worked in the retail industry as a buyer/stylist for 5 years. Starting her career in Austin, Texas and later, returning to Houston. She has traveled to market in Los Angeles, New York and Paris for many years while cultivating a loyal following of clients. Jacy’s entrepreneurial spirit led her to open Stems & Co., a local floral and event planning studio, which later led to her involvement in the conceptual process within Clark Cooper Concepts. Individually, the two sisters, have notably made their mark on the local fashion scene.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has been a great ride so far! Opening a business definitely doesn’t just happen, it’s WORK! We are lucky to have our beautiful store and each other! When it’s a hard day, we know we have each other and can get through it. Know one will work as hard as us!
Sette – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Sette carries women’s designer and contemporary Ready-to-Wear, along with accessories, housing exclusive lines curated for all Sette sisters. Sette offers a unique and personalized one-on-one shopping experience to help evaluate each client’s closet to ensure their needs are met for the current and upcoming seasons.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
We are so excited to see when our clients are rocking Sette! We love helping our Houston girls! They definitely walk out radiating with confidence and that makes us happy!
