Art & Life with alberto peralez

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alberto Peralez.

Alberto, please kick things off for us by telling us about yourself and your journey so far.
I am a self-taught artist inspired by street graffiti around my neighborhood. Art has been a way for me to vent and cope with my struggles. I remember I used to lock myself in my room, listen to rap and draw for hours. I also used to paint classmate’s backpacks or draw their names for money. I lived in a broken home where money was always an issue, so once I graduated from high school I started working to help out. I stopped drawing for a while because I didn´t have the time or energy after a hard day of work. Now I am a parent and I´m starting to pick it back up. With social media in the picture its easier for me to get my art out there for people to see.

Can you give our readers some background on your art?
My artwork is mostly for my own enjoyment. I like to push myself to create something different and out do my last piece each time. I am an environmentally conscious person, so I implement environmental concepts into my artwork. I promote good health, mental awareness, peace, love and positivity with my art. That is the message I hope people take away from it. My goal is to help people have an escape from what they are going though and see that life is more than just about how much money you have or how many people follow you on social media. I want my audience to enjoy the small things in life because there are too many people out there that do not have the same privileges we have.

What responsibility, if any, do you think artists have to use their art to help alleviate problems faced by others? Has your art been affected by issues you’ve concerned about?
In today´s world, artists have more reason and motivation to show people their opinions and get their messages out. My art is greatly affected my international and national events because in a world full of hate, oppression and division I try to spread the message of peace, love, positivity and environmental consciousness to all who come across my artwork.

What’s the best way for someone to check out your work and provide support?
People can see my work mostly on social media like Instagram and Facebook @savageartt
