Today we’d like to introduce you to Paris Evans.
Paris, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I’ve always known I wanted to be an entrepreneur, but fear kept me from leaving my job. My journey started when I realized I was tired of being used. I was getting up every morning, going to a job that didn’t respect me or my time. I quit my corporate accounting job out of anger, with no plan or backup in place. Instantly, after quitting my job fear set in. I believe that God places great things on the other side of fear. Fear kept me from quitting my job and starting my business. Anger forced me out and made me disregard my sense of fear which made me leap head first. I truly believe that God pushed me out of my job so that I could start Hair-N-Paris. Once I left my job there was no going back. I analyzed my situation and I knew going back to another job wasn’t going to work for me. It didn’t matter what job I took, I wasn’t going to be happy. I figured out that it wasn’t the job that was the issue, it was me. I wasn’t going to be happy unless I started my own business. I began to think about what interests me and what I could no longer afford since I was unemployed. The first thing that came to mind was, “my hair”. My hair is how I express myself and I also knew without a job I could no longer afford my bundles and sew-in cost. This is how my Hair-N-Paris story started. Hair-N-Paris is currently an e-commerce store that offers 100% human virgin hair. My hair grading system blog is currently ranked number one on Google and I am planning to open my first physical location early 2019.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
There have been many obstacles in owning an e-commerce hair store. One of the most important obstacles was finding a hair vendor. I was looking for a vendor that was trustworthy and provided a great product. Finding my vendor was a huge obstacle because it took a lot of time and it was very stressful. Finding my vendor was the most important obstacle to overcome but gaining the trust of my customer was also a struggle. Getting my customers to trust Hair-N-Paris started with a great customer, communication, and providing an amazing product. Something I would tell people wanting to start a business as a human hair provider is it is very important to research and find a review of potential vendors. Be aware of scams and I have always found it to be safe to pay for merchandise using PayPal. Communicate with a possible vendor and place a sample order prior to purchasing in bulk. Be as detailed as possible when communicating with vendors and provide pictures of what you’re looking for in a product.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into Hair-N-Paris story. Tell us more about the business.
I own and operate an e-commerce hair store. I specialize in providing 100% human virgin hair to my customers. I am mostly known for my Hair-N-Paris Blog which provide may visitors with information about hair maintenance and other hair facts. My Hair-N-Paris Blog about the Hair Grading System is currently ranked #1 on Google, so that is something I am very proud of. What sets me apart from other hair companies is that my customers are not just an order number. I treat each of my customers the way I would like to be treated as a customer, I provide the type of customer service that I would want my family to receive. My goal when speaking with a potential Hair-N-Paris customer is not to only get a sale. My goal is to provide the best and most helpful information as possible.
