Today we’d like to introduce you to Alia Premjee.
Alia, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Let’s see, where can I begin… I’ve always been drawn towards natural remedies and cures for any and everything whenever possible and so my eyes were always open to new possibilities and ideas. Eating healthy and exercising regularly has always been a big part of who I am and so when I thought of the fact that aging is universal, I felt that I needed to look and also feel my best as I age in the most natural way possible.
So, as I got into my 50’s, I was starting to see changes in my body and face and did not like what was happening,
and so my curiosity took me to this new thing I had never heard of before called the Face Yoga Method.
The more I read about it, the more it made sense to me. Hence, I decided to get my certification in it so I could share this amazing knowledge with others.
After I graduated, I started to teach small groups and individual private lessons. I have done presentations for
events and recently hosted a skincare workshop where we made homemade face mist and face creams! It was so fun!
I hope to keep growing my business and share the magic of the Face Yoga Method. When do people ask me what face yoga is? I just tell them this, “Our body has muscles and we exercise them right? Well, the face has muscles too! Why not exercise our face? With regular facial exercises, the skin on our face will get toned, sculpted and radiant! How cool is that! No need for fillers, botox or anything invasive. If you are looking for something all natural and does not involve chemicals with all the power in your hands how amazing is that?”
We are what we eat and what we apply on our skin is also absorbed into our bodies so just keep that in mind. If
this sounds like something that interests you then feel free to reach out to me!
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
My biggest struggle was stepping out of my comfort zone. I’m still working on it and have barely scratched the surface, I have many more challenges along the way but I’m excited and can’t wait for the next. We learn as we go. Sometimes, it’s hard to predict what the outcome is going to be but it’s important to keep an open mind and be easy and not hard on ourselves and do the best we can in that situation,
Most of all, I am still learning to be thick skinned and understand that not everyone is going to be interested, and that is ok!
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Houston Face Yoga story. Tell us more about the business.
The name of my business is Houston Face Yoga, I’m a certified face yoga method instructor. I teach facial exercises along with body postures which help you obtain a firm, radiant and toned look.
I am the only certified teacher to teach the Face Yoga Method in Houston, I not only teach facial exercises but also talk about lifestyle and share easy skin care tips and ways to make them all organic in your own home! I really don’t know anyone that does that?
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
In my personal life, I can say that I got really lucky to have married the man I did. I barely knew him at that time, but the little I knew about him, was enough. A man of great integrity and character. We have been married now for almost 24 years.
In my business life, I feel really fortunate that I was able to work from home, so I was always there for my kids. They were not left at daycares or with babysitters or nannies. I was able to be a mom and a wife and keep my business secondary. That was very important for me. To be able to put my family first.
