Today we’d like to introduce you to Annie Criner Eifler.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Annie. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
My parents have a long history in the music biz in Houston, and I am so honored to carry on the tradition. They have owned and operated various nightclubs in Houston, the most well-known of which was Rockefeller’s, an intimate, live music showcase in the Heights.
Susie (my mom) parlayed her music industry contacts booking the shows at Rockefeller’s into her own private music booking business that she founded in the 70’s. I am now the Managing Director for GCE and we have been growing at warp speed the past few years with the incredible team we have in place.
Has it been a smooth road?
Trying to juggle work and home life is hard no matter what, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. Charlie, my two-year-old, demands music be played at all times in our house… not sure where he gets that gene from!
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Gulf Coast Entertainment – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Gulf Coast Entertainment is a full-service music consulting company specializing in national entertainment and distinctive, live music for weddings, social and corporate events, and nonprofit galas throughout the country.
We are known for our high standard of customer care, taking the client from idea to execution. We are there every step of the way to make sure the client’s vision is executed and that their entertainers have what they need to perform an outstanding show.
I absolutely love getting to collaborate with event planners to help their brides find the perfect bands for them. I also love producing shows where national entertainment is featured. We have produced shows by James Taylor, Harry Connick Jr., Bonnie Raitt, Diana Ross, Gladys Knight, Lyle Lovett, Clint Black, Billy Idol… to name just a few!
My personal favorite show ever was when we brought Bun B to Discovery Green in December 2016. The family-friendly and free show brought out thousands of Houstonians. Bun dedicated a song to astronaut John Glenn, encouraged people to get together to stay warm (it was December after all), brought an eight year old on stage from the crowd and said that THIS is what life is all about, and reminded everyone that Houston is the open and inclusive community that it is.
I had never been prouder to be a Houstonian and a fan of the Trill OG. And that was even before Harvey! My civic pride, as it turns out, is truly infinite.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I love our signature can-do attitude, but I wish we would take a little more time to plan for our future.
