

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dave Paul.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Dave. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
It started with the munchies. At 3:00 am after a long night on 6th Street in Austin, we were hungry for chicken wings. Although wing joints were abundant in the South, we were shocked to find none in Austin. We decided if no one else had the pluck to do it, we’d have to do it ourselves. We put together some money and built the original location near the University of Texas campus with our hands and cheap labor (including Mark’s younger brother, our future business partner Sean).
Quickly Pluckers became an institution at UT and over the years has grown to become an Austin institution and now we are spreading our wings throughout Texas. We have 23 locations in Texas and Louisiana.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
We were definitely unprepared for the trials of running a restaurant. We had never managed a restaurant much less handled accounting, marketing and the other aspects of running a small business. We have learned everything the hard way, which we also are grateful for.

We specialize in chicken wings and are known as the premier sports bar throughout Texas. We are most proud of the people that work within our organization.
