Today we’d like to introduce you to Lakiesha Thomas.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Sometimes we make decisions in our life that at the time seem to right not seeing ahead that it is harmful to our spirit. Or maybe we do but choose to ignore what is right in front of us and just hope it’s not true. That was me married and ignored the signs that this may not be the best decision to be made for my life at the time but thinking this will fill the void of not having the relationship with my father that I wanted.
I really thought I was in love but didn’t really know how much I was until all of the trials we went through. Although it was at a cost of part of my self-esteem I said I would take the experience to encourage my fellow sisters to know they are worth every great thing life has to offer and they don’t have to accept anything less.
And then there was La’Shaes which is what I call A Motivational Movement seeking to bring a World of Inspiration, Motivation & Sophistication to women near and far.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My motto is Life Not Hard but A Challenge. I don’t know if it would be real if there weren’ any challenges whether big or small. There may be many but the one challenge was coming out of my comfort zone and meeting new people, I know what other would you be able to spread inspiration without doing so. I am very quiet and reserved with those I don’t know personally so to go out to meet & network with the unknown was very challenging at the beginning.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about La’Shaes – what should we know?
La’Shaes seeks to bring women in the Houston area and abroad sisterhood at it’s finest. For the past five years, we have hosted networking events in Houston and Maryland featuring fashion, panelist, honorees and more. Our annual Easter basket giveaway is growing and our awesome team is always looking to find ways to give back to those in and around the community.
We love creating a place of unity and sisterhood. Giving those who may just be getting started or growing in business or ministry a platform to expose who don’t know them or what they are doing.
It’s Always A Great Day to Support A Sister. That’s the atmosphere we would like to create among women, changing how we see and treat one another, that we all have a gift, dream, purpose, or vision and how beautiful it could be if we work together.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Everyone has there opinion as to what is important in being a success, I believe one of the biggest is being there, if you say it than do it. Be what you speak. Also consistency, you may get weary but you can’t quit.
