Today we’d like to introduce you to Tim Petersen.
Tim, please kick things off for us by telling us about yourself and your journey so far.
When I was a little kid I remember going to the grocery store with my family and they’d always have a coloring contest every month and I would win a lot of the time. I would get some praise and realized I was better than most of the kids my age. I think that’s when I started doing it more and more. I also have an uncle that used to work for Disney and we’d visit and I loved to see all of his awesome work. He always seemed so excited to show us and it made me realize you could love your job. He was definitley a major influence as well.
Can you give our readers some background on your art?
I am currently doing freelance work in the children’s book industry. My goal has always been to entertain and to create positive feelings/memories that you can relate to. Whenever I see someone look at my work and smile I feel like I did my job and if it’s good enough to be shared I feel like I did my job well. I hope to continue to improve telling stories through pictures while inspiring/sparking creativity and emotion.
Any advice for aspiring or new artists?
To get anywhere in life it requires work and practice, so keep on creating and sharing.
What’s the best way for someone to check out your work and provide support?
