

Today we’d like to introduce you to Aaron Eaves.
Aaron, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I started in digital marketing in 2010 coming off the heels of being a full-time musician. A friend of mine who happened to be my roommate at the time had been working for a local agency but was looking to strike out on his own. Once he established his new business, I joined as his “apprentice” and began all my training. I literally started from the ground up by doing all of the grunt work of digital marketing.
Whereas it wasn’t always fun, it allowed me to build a solid foundation to build from. 8 years later I have worked my way up the marketing latter and now serve as the Director of Search Marketing for the local Houston-based agency, Marketing Refresh.
Has it been a smooth road?
Marketing is always a challenge, and digital marketing is almost never a smooth road.
The best thing about this industry is that it’s always changing. The worst thing about this industry is that it’s always changing. I say worst, but in reality, I really enjoy that aspect of it. It always forces you to stay sharp and keep your skills up-to-date.

Marketing Refresh was founded in 2009 by Terri Hoffman and was started as a solo venture that has grown into a full-fledged agency today. Terri originally operated by herself and partnered with free-lancers to help with things that were outside of her wheelhouse. I actually started with Marketing Refresh as one of those freelancers. In 2014 I was the first full-time employee that Terri hired, and today we have 7 full-time employees and about 7-10 freelance contractors that makeup Marketing Refresh.
Our target customer or client is someone that may have a small internal marketing department (or no marketing departments at all) and is looking to partner with a group of individuals to help them reach their goals. Many small to medium size businesses are not in a place where they can hire all of the industry experts that they need in order to achieve their business goals. One of the things that make Marketing Refresh such a good fit for businesses like these is that we have experts in all of these areas, from strategy, SEO, content, design and programming, Our talented staff are not only industry leaders but also get invited to speak at conference locally, regionally and even nationally.
As a company, we are proud of our ability to not only serve our client’s needs in an effective way but also to retain those clients. We take a great amount of pride in the relationships and partnerships that we have built with all of our clients!
