My educational and professional backgrounds are in business and law. My interest and the global opportunities in technology fostered the creation of my current technology venture, Artificial Minds®. I previously served as the Chief Strategy Officer for Gilgal Financial Services and as a Management Consultant for Dominion Capital Management Corp. I have successfully consulted businesses across a variety of sectors on strategies to scale their operations. My expertise and experience in technology and business strategy is the vision behind our company’s global direction and development of our Artificial Minds® platform. I am an attorney and professor.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I enjoy the process and challenge of taking an idea and turning it into a viable business that impacts the world. Smart technology is here and it is building the future. This includes artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things (IoT), blockchain, etc. It has begun and will continue to impact every part of society, from how people live to how business processes are run. This presents a number of opportunities for those entrepreneurs who are paying attention to these trends, to create a global technology business. This is what we have done.
Through our company’s Artificial Minds® technology, we have seized an opportunity in the emerging Smart Cities technology market. Recent reports estimate that the Smart Cities market will reach $774.8 billion in 2021. The IoT is estimated to have a $1.7 trillion annual economic impact in cities by 2025. We are positioned to continue to capture the business opportunities in this market.
My success is driven by my Christian faith, equipping myself with the necessary skills through my education and previous professional pursuits, and surrounding myself with a great team — which includes my CFO, Kyle Utterback and COO, Marlon Griffin. Having this solid foundation has propelled me to my success as an entrepreneur.
Customer adoption and regulations (which vary from country to country), are two challenges we constantly have to overcome. Customer adoption is the key to determining the commercial fate of any business. The IoT is a relatively new technology for customers globally across many industries, including the Smart City arena. Educating prospective customers on the benefits of IoT solutions is key, which is what we educate our customers on through our current Smart Waste Management projects.
As technology platforms and Smart City projects like ours and our competitors increase their commercial reach, customer adoption will increase more globally. Regulations are always an issue for any business, especially when it comes to newer technologies such as ours. Regulations involving smart technologies have, in many instances, yet to be created. As law governing these new technological areas is enacted, companies like ours have to adapt. This, however, creates a current opportunity for us to serve as advisers in the policy-making process.
In our company’s frequent discussions with government officials, we continue to advise them on how the regulations governing smart technologies should be proposed to encourage effective policy enactment and continued commercial growth.

Our technology will also be used at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo, Japan. We have begun R&D to integrate the Blockchain within Artificial Minds® to create a versatile Blockchain-IoT solution. This will enable Smart Cities to create new opportunities and competitive advantages in current and new markets. We have a wholly-owned subsidiary in Hong Kong — called Artificial Minds Ltd. — for our business and projects in Asia.
What were you like growing up?
I was born and raised in Corpus Christi, Texas. I excelled academically and athletically growing up, receiving numerous honors and awards — including graduating with honors, playing collegiate basketball, and becoming a world champion martial artist. My upbringing was a blessing, as it instilled in me my Christian faith, my motivation to excel at a high level, and my passion to be a blessing to others through my gifts and endeavors.
