Meet Morgan Townsend of Alice’s Table Houston

Today we’d like to introduce you to Morgan Townsend.

Morgan, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I am a stay at home mom of three who really needed something that I could call my own. I’ve done multi-level marketing companies before and they just weren’t for me. I love creating things with my hands. As I was googling jobs for stay at home mom one day, Alice’s Table popped up. Immediately I was excited. I spoke with Brooke about the opportunity and was sold.

I joined Alice’s Table in September of 2017 after hurricane Harvey. I was actually supposed to have my first interview with them during the hurricane, but we rescheduled. Unfortunately, due to many factors I wasn’t able to fully start hosting events until March of 2018. I’ve been holding 1-2 events per month and hope to start having one public event per week by fall, with some private events in between.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It hasn’t been very smooth. After I joined, we bought a new house and moved in October. Both of my grandparents passed away in January, which was extremely difficult to deal with. I have been able to find many amazing venues to partner with. Unfortunately, up until now, I just haven’t had the time to dedicate to Alice’s Table as it deserves. Life has settled down and its time to get serious with telling people about this amazing company.

One of the biggest challenges that I have found is getting my name out there, which makes ticket sales a little harder. I am working on learning the ins and outs of marketing that way I can really grow my business.

Please tell us about Alice’s Table Houston.
Alice’s Table is an event based company that teaches people how to fresh arrange flowers (centerpieces, bouquets, flower crowns, wreaths). Everyone attends events with the hope they will gain new skills and discover a new passion or hobby in creating floral arrangements. I always bring all my tips and tricks so anyone who attends so that they can go home and create beautiful arrangements over and over again.

I do public events as well as private events. Private events can be anything, bachelorette parties, girl’s night out, baby showers, wedding showers, etc. I can even do flower crown parties for little girls. Weddings have just been revamped at Alice’s Table. Assisted DIY can be just the thing for a bride who wants to save money, but would like some help in creating the perfect florals.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I don’t think I would change anything. It’s all been a learning process, but I have enjoyed getting to know so many different people. It may not always be easy, but it is so much fun.

Pricing:

  • Tickets for public arrangement classes start at $65. This includes everything that is needed for the class Flowers, vases, and the tools that will be used). The flowers and vase if theirs to take home at the end of the event.
