Today we’d like to introduce you to Christine Wright.
Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
I started photographing CrossFit athletes and competitions, actually!! As time went on, I fell in love with capturing weddings, especially with couples who are super fun. As a super nerd, I loved it when my couples would add Star Wars, Harry Potter or something unique or fun to their wedding. This led me to changing my business name and truly talking to these couples.
Please tell us about your art.
I photograph couples and individuals who embrace their uniqueness and passions and want to show it off. I have found that in the wedding world there’s a huge opportunity to take things you love, like Game of Thrones, Superman or even your puppy, and feature them in an elegant way. So, I pair with other vendors to inspire couples everywhere to think outside the box on the details of their wedding day. Typically, superhero touches remain over-the-top and polarizing. I want to change this perception, I want couples to feel comfortable to add these touches but reimagined in an elegant way. You see this reflected in the images I have sent over.
Do you have any advice for other artists? Any lessons you wished you learned earlier?
Art is a lot like life: where you start isn’t necessarily where you’ll end up. Don’t be afraid to change, to grow and experiment. I wish I had realized earlier that I didn’t need to be like everyone else, and to appreciate others work more rather than comparing myself to them. Also, don’t be afraid to network, meet new people and get out of your comfort zone. That’s when I met the best people and my business and art grew because of them.
How or where can people see your work? How can people support your work?
