Today we’d like to introduce you to Monica Rodriguez.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Well, I’ve always had an interest in Photography. I initially thought I couldn’t do anything with it so I spent the last 5 years in a corporate cubicle. LOL. Ok, it wasn’t that bad, it just wasn’t for me. Last year was the turning point, I was so stressed out and tired. One day, while on Indeed, I found a private jeweler in the Galleria (who happened to be the Prima Ballerina for the Houston Ballet) I reached out, we met and she asked me to photograph her pieces and help her with events. Watching her do what she loved really motivated me to make a change.
Since then, I’ve gotten into photographing real estate, weddings, marketing events, and even styled shoots. Four months later, I started a Photo Booth Company as an addition to my services.
Through my photography and business, I’ve been able to work with amazing brands and people I never thought I would be able to connect with. I’m currently a Freelance Photographer, Marketing Manager, Business Owner, Creative Mornings Co-Host and an ambitious Entrepreneur.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
No, it hasn’t been easy but you have to stay persistent and stay true to yourself. Build those connections and cut out all the distractions.
