Today we’d like to introduce you to Amanda Walton.
Amanda, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I have been passionate about photography for as long as I remember. When my son was a baby, I started following him around with my camera and then became determined to learn everything about my camera, lighting, etc. After a while my friends started asking me to take pictures of their kids and then gradually it turned into a business. I have been very blessed to have a “job” that I love so much.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
My business is a one-person show, so I would say the biggest struggle is being able to manage all the demands of my clients and making sure they are happy with their pictures and the whole experience overall.
So, let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Amanda Walton Photography story. Tell us more about the business.
My style of photography is all natural light, mostly outdoors and I specialize in capturing sweet baby smiles and happy families! I feel so lucky to be able to capture the most important times in people’s lives, such as their pregnancies, their new baby, first birthday’s, etc. Without pictures, we have nothing to look back on to remember these precious moments in life.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I think I am very lucky to do what I do for a living. It does not feel like work when you love what you do!
