Today we’d like to introduce you to Marcus Kley Hebert.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I got my start playing music for churches, and Christian camps and the like. That’s where I developed my skills on Drums and Piano, as well as getting comfortable singing and performing for large audiences. When I realized that I wanted to put out my own music and be a solo artist; I started writing and shortly thereafter co-wrote my first single “Never Should Have Let You In” with a writer friend. After that, I hit the studio with my friend and accomplished producer, Mark Townsend, and voila! I released my first single under Townsend’s label, Channeland Entertainment Group.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I think all artists struggle with writer’s block from time to time. You’ll get in a funk and won’t be able to write for weeks at a time, and then randomly some guitar hook will get you fired up and you’ll have a killer song in a few hours.
Please tell us about Marcus Kley.
Anyone who has seen me perform live will tell you that my energetic live performances are what set me apart. I love to use every part of the stage and interact with the crowd as much as possible. I’m there to have fun and I think that lets the audience feel comfortable having fun too.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
I’m a big fan of The Lord Of The Rings, so I would have to say watching those movies for the first time is a big highlight of my childhood. I still watch them and read the books every year.
