Meet Monica Delgado of @monicadelgadof in Katy

Today we’d like to introduce you to Monica Delgado.

Monica, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I’m a Venezuelan fashion and lifestyle blogger currently living in the US. “Think happy in order to be happier “ is my life motto and what I love to share on my social media account. I have a Spanish-English Instablog and I’ve been an influencer for almost two years.

I love sharing fashion and lifestyle from my point of view always with a personal touch and creativity seeking to inspire others to dare to live a life they’ll love. Back home, I had my own clothesline and I’m now trying to open another one here. I also share a lot about motherhood and babies now as I became a mom to a baby girl named Alessa almost 9 months ago.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I honestly think good things take time. It has been a beautiful road filled with wonderful moments and also obstacles and difficulties. I share a lot about my life. So, as a regular life is filled with good days, bad days, dreams, mistakes, achievements, adventures and so many lessons.

I feel proud of what I’ve accomplished so far, but I’m so eager and working hard to learn, grow and get better every day at what I do and that way stepping closer to my goals and dreams.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the @monicadelgadof story. Tell us more about the business.
I started a fashion blog on Instagram showing trends and styles from my point of view. Then I launched my own clothesline and wore my designs on my account almost every day, showing my follower’s different ways to style them.

For personal reasons, I had to move here and start again in a new country and had a baby daughter at the same time and decided to share that experience with my followers always motivating them to dare to do what makes them happy no matter how hard it gets sometimes.

Being able to show that part of my life and always adding that fashion touch to every post, I’ve been able to work and collaborate with many brands such as @stronger, @twistshakebaby, @danielwellington, @tayroc, @bikinilasirene, @misslolaofficial, @maajiswimwear and more recently had a big campaign with @herbalessences and had my first article published on a magazine in Texas @creamcitymagazine.

I love what I do and think that we all have the opportunity to grow on this platform, because it doesn’t matter if you’re a big or small business, if you have something great to offer, everything  is possible. So regardless how busy I am at the moment, I always have a space for small business and offer them  a startup business plan.

I think the best way to grow is helping others to do the same, so when they ask me how I would define myself and my account, I think I would say I’m consider myself a woman who always add positivity, motivation and fashion to every aspect of her life

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I think I’ve been lucky to be exposed and accepted for many people in a short period of time. That’s something I cherish and value everyday. But definitely hard work is part of every step I’ve taken so far.

Dedication, organization, creativity but most importantly perseverance and support from your team and family, I would say are the keys to success. It doesn’t matter how hard it gets sometimes, you just have to keep trying. There have been times when I’ve felt I can’t do it anymore or I’ve thought that I’m not doing enough, and those days my family, my husband, that has been such an important part of this project since I began and my sisters, always find the right words and remember me why I started. Is a long way to success, I have so many dreams and goals and although I’m proud of what I’ve achieve so far, growing a 77K family without any marketing strategy or agency I just want to keep growing and showing to others, that fighting and working for your dreams is worth it.

My goal is to keep learning and showing what I’ve learned to everyone who is watching. Sometimes you win, sometimes you learn that’s part of life and I want my followers to know that. Dreams takes time, hard work and passion. But mostly, dreams need you to be sure, be fearless and be proud of who you’re with both virtues and flaws, because that’s the part of us that make us special and make us different from others. I think my goal is to keep inspiring others to dare to go after their dreams, own a fashion brand that empower other women, meet new people and places and keep growing in every aspect of my life and leave a little mark wherever I go that says: “everything start with a dream, giving up is not an option”.
