Meet Bob Way of Mister Roberts Rustic Rarehouse in Conroe

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bob Way.

If you’re intrigued by the display of unique furniture, furnishings and stylish home accents outside Mister Robert’s Rustic Rarehouse, located on TX Hwy 105 W between Conroe and Montgomery, just wait until you get a gander at all that awaits inside this unique warehouse. The 6,000-sq.ft. showroom is filled with an incredible selection of stylish solid wood furniture acquired from around the world and offered at
surprisingly affordable prices. And for those looking to decorate with a theme, the Rustic Rarehouse has lots of furnishings, artwork and home accents to help express your unique personality. “I spent 17 years selling and restoring European antiques and I learned a lot about how furniture should be made,” said owner Bob Way. “I’ve been able to use that knowledge and experience to bring quality home furniture and furnishings to Montgomery County. The response has been better than I expected.” Way’s Rustic Rarehouse holds a variety of locally produced and imported handmade wood furniture and décor constructed of exotic hardwoods like Teak, Mahogany and Acacia. Such woods offer a world of difference and greater durability than the particle board construction used by many modern furniture makers. No matter its source or origin, Way makes sure that each piece he sells is made with quality. “When buying, I look at price vs. quality,” he said. “I’m not looking through catalogs; I go straight to the supplier and look at the actual pieces I’m considering bringing into the store. I look at how the piece is made, how the drawers fit and determine if it’s worth the money.” Unlike many rustic furniture stores that sell furniture made of soft pine imported from Mexico, Way sells pieces that are made out of higher quality hardwoods.

Some of Way’s most popular imported furniture pieces are made out of earth-friendly, renewable byproducts − like Mango wood from the fruit industry. What makes his imported furniture even more unique is that his supply is limited to what his importer has on hand, which is usually only a few of each piece. That means availability is severely limited and unlikely to be available in any other retail furniture stores in the region and beyond. The steady influx of unique furniture means Rustic Rarehouse’s inventory is constantly changing and evolving − making shopping a unique experience every time you visit. “We never know what’s going to show up or what we’re going to get,” Way quipped. “It makes things interesting and exciting for all concerned.” Particularly popular is distressed furniture. It’s a technique in which the wood is painted, and the surface marked to give it the look of age, adding character and interest to the piece. The effect can give furniture the look of an antique while maintaining the structural integrity of a new piece. “Distressed furniture is very popular and family friendly,” said Way. “Homeowners with
growing kids and active pets appreciate the quality and durability of it without having to worry if they
get a nick or scratch that would ruin so-called ‘upscale’ furniture.”

And because Way has more than 24 years in buying, selling and restoring furniture, he can offer services rarely available in big box furniture stores. Choosy buyers can often customize their purchase: changing the color, adding wheels, cutting down table legs or adding other special extras to make their selection perfect. “It’s a good idea to put a sealant on a wood table that will be used in the kitchen or the dining room,” said Way. “Real wood needs to be protected and many of our customers would prefer to avoid the hassle of staining or sealing themselves, so we offer that service as well.” Unique solid wood furniture, artistic furnishings, and highly personalized customization − it’s all available at Mister Robert’s Rustic Rarehouse. The retail shop is located at 13782 Tx Hwy 105 W between Conroe and Montgomery.
