Meet Saira Barron of Alastor Grey Co. in North/Spring Area

Today we’d like to introduce you to Saira Barron.

Saira, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I started out with a point and shoot Nikon camera back in high school and my passion grew from there. A few years back, I got a DSLR and decided to really learn how to use it! I took photos of everything! After my daughter was born it became more than just taking photos, it was documenting a time that I would never be able to go back to. That passion for keeping memories tangible was what drove me to start my business.

Has it been a smooth road?
Starting any business is hard, but add in the saturated market of photographers in Houston, and you have the monumental task of building a client base.

Everyone is wary of a new photographer, so I had to really work to prove that this wasn’t just a whim. I’m not just a “momtographer”. Capturing these moments in time is really important to me.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Alastor Grey Co. – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I am an all-inclusive photography and videography shop. All-inclusive means that the session fee you pay when booking my services includes digital images, and you aren’t required to purchase print products. I want everyone to be able to have family photos, so I try to have packages that can work for everyone.

I love to shoot weddings, maternity, seniors, and families. I have found that wedding photography and videography is incredibly stressful, but it is so rewarding to be able to be a part of that day.

I am most proud of the feedback I get from my clients. Not just that they love their photos, but that they loved the experience. I have heard several times that they felt like they were hanging out with a friend instead of meeting a complete stranger to take photos. I get really nervous when I meet new people so hearing that I can make them comfortable makes me so very happy.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I love the rush of being Downtown, and the calm of being out in the country. I love how the entire city pulled together to help one another after the devastation of Hurricane Harvey, and I LOVE the art and food you can find here.

I HATE the traffic!
