Thanks for sharing your story with us Ashley. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Sure! I started my photography journey when I was in high school, I was always the person walking around the halls taking photos of everyone and everything. I moved to San Antonio in 2011 and started taking pictures a few local bands and actually during my first ever paid session I FORGOT my camera which was over an hour away! It was a nightmare! Fast forward to 2014, I had been living in Houston for a while and then my daughter was born! I had continued to take pictures of family and friends but never considered doing it professionally after that incident in San Antonio! Instagram was in full swing at this point and a family friend had asked me to take her daughter’s senior pictures. Everything clicked that day! I went home and edited the entire gallery in two hours and it was love ever since. I am so thankful that I found a career I can be so passionate about and meet so many amazing people! It’s seriously a dream!
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Oh no! Between becoming a young mom and starting a career, I have absolutely struggled. My biggest struggle especially in the beginning was self-discipline and learning to find that balance of mom life and running a small business on my own. Being a creative person organization and schedules aren’t my strongest quality (ha!). So, really finding ways to create a schedule that worked for me was a huge help! My best advice for creatives trying to start a business is to give yourself the opportunity to be creative at least once a month! It really helps to keep ideas flowing! And to my young woman and young mamas out there, just keep in mind you are in charge of you and no one can stop you! Daydreams don’t have to just be day dreams babes!

High School Seniors are what I specialize in! I absolutely love all worlds of photography but senior portraits really motivate me and excite the creative side of me! I am SO proud of my high school senior rep team! My girls mean so much to me and if it wasn’t for girls, I wouldn’t be where I am today!
Which women have inspired you in your life?
My daughter, every single day. From the moment I knew I was having a girl, I knew I wanted to show her she can do anything she wants. I grew up incredibly self-reliant and I wanted my daughter to know hard work pays off and there’s so much joy in meeting new people daily. She is 3 years old now and has been to almost every session of mine. She is my inspiration and my motivation.
