Thanks for sharing your story with us Ashley. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
It all started with my grandmother Sylvia… My grandmother was the baker of the family and I just loved to be in the kitchen with her waiting for “the bowl”. I was always amazed at how beautiful the cakes were that she created. When she passed away, my passion for baking was awakened. I didn’t realize it until I decided to make cake pops for a bake sale at work and everyone raved about how good they were!
So of course, for every bake sale after that everyone was looking to see “What did Ashley make?!” The happiness that I felt from seeing everyone enjoy my desserts was like no other feeling! From the bake sales eventually came coworkers asking me to make cakes for their events and for their family AND they were willing to pay me for it!
That’s when I knew that I wanted to make a business doing something that I love to do that also brings so much joy to everyone who has tasted my creations!
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
There are many struggles, nothing worth having is easy to obtain/maintain. For me, I would say the biggest struggle is time. Finding time to do what I love amongst the other million things…. wife, mom, career, physical fitness, etc.
However, I’ve gotten better over the years with managing my time. I know for sure that I have to have structure and a schedule or things are guaranteed to fall apart. Another struggle that I face is being an introvert.
Being an introvert and owning a small business doesn’t make things easy for me. I have to find creative ways to market and advertise without having to actually “speak” to people. Sounds crazy? Tell me about it… My fellow introverted people reading this understand my struggle…

If we are all smiling, then that to me is success! My main goal is to create an exceptional memorable experience from inquiry to delivery so that my clients have no choice but to leave with a smile and a heart, and stomach, full of joy!
