Arthur, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Code Red was brought to Houston Energy Woman’s Football Team in 2007 under the direction of Derrick Whitfield. Not only do the CRD’s cheer on the team but they bring GREAT entertainment for the fans! The CRD’s started off as a small squad and has grown within the past couple of years. The 2010 squad was the biggest by far and hoping to make a name for themselves in Houston! Coach AP took over the direction of Code Red in 2012. After the 2016 football season Code Red and Houston Energy parted ways due to lack of support, and Code Red became an Entertainment Dance Company owned by Coach AP.

Code Red Pro Dance Team continues each year as the energetic dance squad that ignites the crowd at any event with elements of Street jazz, two-step, hip hop dance, and gymnastics. The talented men and women of Code Red Dance Team work hard to keep the crowd pumped up and to make sure you feel the action and excitement at your seat!
As well Coach A.P. is a Real Estate Agent at Sapphire Realty helping people reach home ownership!!!
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Not at all has it been a smooth road, getting a central practice space, booking paid appearances, true dedicated drama free dancer’s, & sponsorship!!! Dealing with body shaming due to what society thinks pro dancers should look like has also been a challenge and ultimately one of the reasons of parting ways from the football team. We recently lost our practice space at Blast Fitness (Shepherd location) when they suddenly closed down and are currently looking for a new place to practice. We are also looking for more opportunities to perform on bigger platforms.

Code Red Pro Dance Team is an Entertainment Co-Ed Dance Company that is diverse in dance styles and able to perform for a variety of different audiences. Code Red Dancers come in all shapes, sizes, ages, and always able to perform energetic routines to wow the crowd.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
The moment I made Houston Comets Team-NRG Dance Team in 2006-2008 & Houston Aeros Dynamic’s Hockey Dance squad. Having over 20 year’s of coaching cheer/Dance & being a UCA mascot entertainer to children, teenagers & young adults all over the state of Texas as well multiple states across the country. And most recent Code Red being able to perform at 2017 H.E.B. Houston Thanksgiving Parade & just taking a step to just try to bring a fresh, fun, high energy group of diverse dancer’s for people to see & hopefully love them!
