Thanks for sharing your story with us Onah. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Hello! My name has a slight abbreviation for the “OI,” style is who I am which developed my brand name! I started off with a local small boutique online, to say the least, I was craving something more! I began to visually take a step back to see what my brand needed/what was authentic to me! Inspiration through design is what captured me! In the summer of 2015, OISTYLE was established! Not just a mere thought. I began in earlier years randomly styling friends/with my own unique style each time effortlessly! I decided I needed to get more connected in the industry, so I worked part at Zara! This was definitely an eye-opener in the retail world. I was able to connect with a variety of people, now, I was able to style people, connect with doing the things I loved. My time there came to an end as it was a stepping stone to elevate me to my next chapter! This next chapter is called NYFW! The name alone puts a smile in my heart! I told myselfI’mm going and made up my mind that I’m getting into every show my heart desires! Heading to New York alone, I was determined to network with the best of them! This allowed me to see this dream just might be a reality… my trip was a complete success and very motivational from sitting the second row at the Phillip Plein Show to being front row of style fw! I told myself, girl this is your world! Now, live in it… I’m still currently working on my design passion, so I wouldn’t say that I’m in no way arrived, but I am definitely a girl catapulting to the top!
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It has not been a smooth ride, I don’t think anything worth having is, but I do think that great things must be built and there is NO way getting around that word “PROCESS.” I know the way things start off is not always the way they finish, in my case, I’m believing it will exceed my expectations… some of the struggles along the way were just not starting, thinking of a grand idea and not following suit, finances in the fashion business as an entrepreneur is not always an easy ride. Capital can be hard to access but if it’s truly your dream, mixed with the ingredients of passion, you won’t let that stop you!

OISTYLE is an upcoming company specializing in women’s luxury ready to wear/couture pieces, we believe in making women feel amazing from the inside out! Each woman can expect a piece that will set her apart at any event, leaving the world asking “who are you wearing?” I am known for taking a risk, yet bringing out the strength in a women’s femininity! I am most proud of the impact my brand will make on the world, from the resilience it stands on anything is possible!
Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
I would say there are people along the way whose light shines on your brand, I can go on from friends to strangers believing in me! I’m thankful for everyone who has contributed to my journey even if it was a 5 minutes pep talk! I couldn’t take all the credit even if I want to, but hands down. I got to say JESUS has been my helper through the beginning!
