Today we’d like to introduce you to Anthony Tocci.
Anthony, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I started Off The Jump in 2015 in an attempt to give me and my friends a base and a foundation to make music. As a musician myself, I really wanted to have a comfortable family environment and the first year was about structuring the business. Off The jump runs as a promotional company and is also the name of a music collective that houses all of our promoted artists.
In 2017, we created a vault and released one song a week on our SoundCloud page for every week of 2017, equal to 52 singles. To wrap up the year, we released an album on December 31 called Highbeams to transition into phase 2. This year has been focused on each individual artist. We focus on musicians like Atwood, Samsa, Khai Deams, and Chris Wright.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Naturally, no road is smooth. In the early years, it was really about finding the right structure. Like any community and business, there has been a bumping of heads, nothing in life is truly easy, but it really is the passion that drives us to perform to our greatest ability.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Off The Jump – what should we know?
Off The Jump is a promotional label and booking company that works with internet musicians and local musicians to really help them get on to the path that they want to get on. We personally handle a lot of Internet marketing along with the artist consulting. We also pair up artist with people to help benefit them personally, like managers, collaborators, and artists.
My favorite part of the company as that every one of our employees and clients really treats each other like a family. Off The Jump is more of a business, it became a family of creatives and like-minded business people, a movement.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
There isn’t one quality that really leads people anywhere, it is about having a balance of traits. Be honest, work hard, work smart, and never take a day for granted. Just a lot of the basic knowledge you hear get passed around.
