Today we’d like to introduce you to Michael Temple.
Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
I have always been a student-athlete until I got through my first semester of college taking business finance at San Diego State.
After that semester, I changed my major to Painting and Printmaking. I graduated in 2015 and moved back to Houston in 2016. Since then, art and painting have been my life, from teaching paint and sip classes too showing at Art Basel.
Please tell us about your art.
I bring and incorporate a new or pop cultural twist to the Sculptures of Art History and of the world. I put all my thoughts cohesively into the canvas to make the perfect piece, showing the technical skills of the old masters, yet with an imagination of a child using a spectrum of mediums.
As an artist, how do you define success and what quality or characteristic do you feel is essential to success as an artist?
I define success as being in the biggest galleries, doing collaborations with the biggest brands and being a household name. I feel that it takes enormous amounts of dedication, persistence, and sacrifice to become a successful artist today.
