Life and Work with Linda Taylor

Today we’d like to introduce you to Linda Taylor.

Linda, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
My journey has been about a transformation from the inside out. Since the birth of my two daughters, who are now 21 and 24 years old, I knew that it was important for me to invest in my wellbeing so that I could be available for my girls. The mental transformation happened first. I set goals in my personal and professional life to guide my decisions and actions. I wanted to make sure that my actions were intentional and were aligned with what I hoped for myself and my family. My physical transformation, however, wasn’t as easy, It has taken years of consistency, dedication, perceived failure, renewed commitment, and sacrifice. After having kids, my weight hit an all-time high of 212 lbs. I am 5’4″ so this added weight posed a health risk for me based on my family history of heart disease and diabetes, I knew that I could either fall victim to my genetics and the stress of life or I could break the cycle and make a commitment to health and wellness. I chose option B!

Today, I am soon to be a 47-year-old woman and I am in the best health- physically and mentally – of my life! I am committed to eating healthy food that fuels my body all while finding balance, so that I can enjoy life. Through the sport of bodybuilding, I have the opportunity to defy the hands of time! This is my craft and I absolutely love! Today, I share this love with other women who are also looking to transform from the inside out. While I am thrilled with how far I have come, I find even greater joy in seeing the transformation of other deserving women.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It has certainly not been a smooth road! Goals that are set that stretch you and make you better always come with a touch of difficulty and obstacles to make you stronger. Every challenge and every setback only served to make me stronger and wiser.

If you are just starting your journey, whether, in your personal or professional life, I offer these five keys to success:
1. Set a GOAL that stretches you.
2. Develop your PLAN.
3. Identify you CORE group of support.
4. Make a MOVE. Take ACTION.
5. DO NOT QUIT. EVER.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with you – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
In my professional life, I am an Executive/Life Coach and Organizational Change Leader. I have used these same skills to drive me as I live out my goals with Taylor Family Fitness. I am most proud of the commitment and the change I see in the women I support. My educational background in Psychology and my experience in Life Coaching allows me to partner with my clients and help them journey through their full transformation. A physical transformation cannot happen without the mental transformation that provides the foundation for commitment, consistency, and willpower.
