Today we’d like to introduce you to Tanisha R. Atkins.
Tanisha, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
My journey has not been an easy one, but it has been so worth the fight. Every level has prepared and made me stronger, better, and wiser.
Growing up I suffered heavily with anxiety. It affected my life in every way imaginable. There were certain things and places that I did not go nor do, not because I didn’t want to, because I couldn’t. But in spite of the challenges that were present in my life, I continued to push forward because I knew that there was Purpose on the inside of me and I was on a mission to let it out.
Something that always bothered me growing up, was seeing women devalue themselves by holding on to people, places, and things that were diminishing them. It would literally sadden me seeing them go thru hell, longing to be loved.
That set me out on a journey to encourage women to love themselves, to know their worth and to know that they matter, especially to God. In 2015, I started a T-shirt line for women, Diva Tees Inc. (Dynamic Invincible Valuable Amazing) with Empowering T-shirts with affirmations to build confidence and to inspire them to esteem themselves highly. Watching their responses to each new tee thrilled me because I felt like; Yes, they’re getting it!
The success from the T-shirt line inspired me to create another avenue for women who desired to launch their own businesses but lacked the courage to take the leap.
It was impressed upon my heart to take the Diva brand to another level. In May of 2018, Diva Tees Inc. Officially became Diva’s Incorporated, Consulting Agency/Artist Development Agency. I am known as the Confidence Coach. I live by the principle that everything you need is already on the inside if you. So, I teach that to my clients. I encourage them to be bold courageous ambitious and fearless when taking their “Big Leap.” And to trust their process!
In spite of the challenges I faced, I continued to push forward one step at a time. I take every opportunity I can to inspire the world because that truly is my life’s purpose. I recently started a podcast called Morning coffee and it gives me great joy to add my voice to the world to make it better.
To see how my life has and continues to evolve is greater than I could’ve ever imagined. I honestly never knew that all of this encouragement empowerment and confidence was in there. I always say that life will show you what you’re made of, and I can truly say that I am made up of greatness. And I have embraced it. And I am running with it.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Life has challenged me in many ways, but here’s what I found out. Life literally is what you make it. You have the power to choose the kind of life you really want to live. When life throws you a curve ball, catch it and run it. Let it make you, not break you. Put God first. And do what He tells you to do! It’s really just that simple!
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into Diva’s Incorporated story. Tell us more about the business.
