Meet Ricky Davis of ChampagneStudios

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ricky Davis.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Ricky. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Believe it or not, I actually started my photography journey during middle school. I personally was always a fan or the arts & looked for mediums to express myself & on a whim decided to take a photography class, of course, we were shooting film, but it peaked my interest. Fast forward to 2014 & I ended up purchasing a 2nd hand older DSLR & starting teaching myself the art of Photography, trial & error & Youtube proved to be my best teachers. Four years & 10 cameras later here I am.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Finding something you love is always a joy, but I’d be far from honest if I said the process was smooth. Initially, self-doubt was the biggest factor, add to that the expenses of trying to operate & build your own company in the process.

Please tell us about ChampagneStudios.
My company is ChampagneStudios, & the name derived from not my love of champagne but the occasions usually accompanied with it. Champagne has always been synonymous with joy & celebration, that’s the emotions I would see on peoples faces when they saw photos of themselves happy & enjoying life, hence the name. I specialize in Wedding Photography, Videography, & Editorial work. I think what sets us apart is not only the passion for not only what we do but for the people we work with but also the effort to make each experience it’s very own.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
Apart of me wants to say actually went to school for this instead of Software Engineering but I’m doubtful I would have grown to appreciate it so much as I do now. People search their entire lives for a purpose & something that makes them happy; the path I went down helped me find that so I can only be grateful.
