Meet Ashley Sparks of The Hair Heroes

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Sparks.

Ashley, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I am a believer in so a man thinketh so is he. Because of this thought process all my life I believed in me and everything I put my mind to. I put God first because I would not have been able to push this dream as far as I have. I grew up under a professional beauty expert in my household so, I witnessed shambled people walk out the salon door looking like a Picasso masterpiece.

My mother is the one who inspired & encouraged me to take force in the beauty industry. I was definitely a perfectionist & the industry gave me room to allow my imagination to run wild and create art from scratch on human canvases. There is not a category you can place an artist in but the creative category. I started at 13 years old braiding hair for the locals of Alvin, Tx. I then moved into Missouri City and pursued my education development for cosmetology at 16 years old.

By 18 years old, I graduated with my professional cosmetology license. I then became a freelance hairstylist for the next seven years. Within that seven years, I became an international hairstylist taking my talent to Multiple regions such as South America, Europe,& United Arab Emirates I mainly focused on importing and exporting raw Indian extensions, hair replacement extensions, event updos, and custom coloring.

My talent blessed me to be able to do multiple lavish weddings to hair for television news anchors and so forth. I then created a formulation for a conditioner that is used for natural or chemically treated hair to help prevent damaged hair, daily maintenance & promotes major growth. At 25 years old my New Years resolution was to open an official salon in Houston, Tx.

At 26 years old, I successfully opened The Hair Heroes Salon Studios. A complete dream come true. For the next four years, it was truly amazing to meet so many referrals to my business and watch my company literally grow overnight. With much success, planning could not prepare me for the Hurricane that redirected my business plans.

After experiencing the effects from Hurricane Harvey, I relocated south of Houston to a town called Pearland still servicing the greater Houston area and surrounding areas. I am currently focusing on the manufacturing of my own private label shampoo, conditioner & oil called Hero Hunny Balm sold exclusively online.

From here, I plan to take my products cross-country educating people on the importance of hair care with great products & techniques. I am honored to be at the place I am today.

Has it been a smooth road?
Honesty is always key to success. This journey came with lots of love, lots of hate, sunny days, hurricanes, kindness, roadblocks and diminishing lights at the end of my tunnel. Ups and many downs but still in steady motion.

Ambition, tenacity, and faith helped me and is currently helping me overcome the odds. Right when I feel like I’m about to break down I know I always overcome. It gives me extra energy to keep pushing and to not give up on what I believe in.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into The Hair Heroes Llc. story. Tell us more about the business.
I currently specialize in manufacturing hair care products, natural hair care, importing and exporting raw Indian hair extensions, hair extensions replacements and custom coloring. I’m known for all of this. I have perfected my craft over the years and have mastered them. I’m extremely proud of my work and dedication I give to each client.

The thing that truly sets me apart as a stylist is that I am also an educator of my craft. I love helping people understand why they can do better if they knew better . Showing them techniques and also purchasing products that they can use from home.

Where do you see your industry going over the next 5-10 years?  Any big shifts, changes, trends, etc?
Within the next five years, I see the industry merging into more of the quick to-dos. We live in such a microwave society and with that being said I mean people love things fast. Less time more style. Easy to think quick to produce.

When it comes to trends, the hairstyle eras repeat their self-year after year. I look at hair from a different perspective. Hairstyles truly are based off of where that particular person is in their life versus era.
