Meet Danielle Rosser of West Alabama Animal Clinic

Today we’d like to introduce you to Danielle Rosser, DVM.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I have always loved animals. When I was in my teens I was discouraged by my family not to go to vet school. I drove a cab while getting my undergrad in Astrophysics and Architecture. After working for a veterinarian in my mid 20s I decided to switch my major to pre-vet. I worked for a while developing vaccines for sheep and goats before I was accepted to Texas A&M School of Veterinary Medicine.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It was a fairly easy transition from working for someone and buying my own clinic. I have had many helpful people in my life that are great at management and finance. There have been some small hiccups along the way, but nothing unmanageable.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
We are a great practice with great clientele and great employees. We are known in the community for our client care. We only treat dogs and cats, but we are a full service practice offering wellness, surgery, dental cleanings as well as boarding and grooming.

What were you like growing up?
Compassion and outstanding medicine/client care.
