Today we’d like to introduce you to Gracy Renteria.
Gracy, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
As an avid cycler, I used to cycle at a studio in River Oaks. My commute from Pearland to River Oaks started to become hard with traffic. I couldn’t believe as big as Pearland was there was not an indoor cycling studio. I came up with the idea of perhaps opening a stand-alone studio, and if I thought this way how many more people in the Pearland community thought the same. It was definitely a gamble, I had a full-time job- me thinking of leaving my job was also a huge risk. However my passion for cycling and knowing that the other side of the fear I felt was worth taking the risk. After almost two years of being open, I have no regrets of opening the studio, and I am beyond grateful for the relationships that have been created from the community we have created at Infinity.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It wasn’t always smooth, it was a bumpy road in the beginning, as a new small business owner it took a lot of learning. I was a brand new business, and starting from scratch was not something I had ever experienced. What works, what didn’t. My biggest struggle was how do I let people know I’m here. I took flyers with me everywhere I went, dropped them off at local businesses, began networking and socializing and getting the word out. My biggest referral to date is word of mouth.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Infinity Cycling Studio – what should we know?
We are an Indoor Cycling Studio, and we’re ALL about cycling! Our signature classes combine choreographed moves with cycling techniques for a high-intensity workout that targets your upper body, legs, and core. Our goal is for you to walk out of the studio motivated, feeling stronger, knowing you can push yourself and also loving every minute of it. We are different for the reason that we are a small studio and we keep our classes small so we can focus on each one of our riders.
Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
My family especially my brother Rick helped me throughout the process of opening the studio, they were there every inch of the way. I couldn’t have done it without them. My team at Infinity is incredible, hands down the best team I have ever worked with. Without them I wouldn’t be where I am today, they are the face of the studio, our riders love them!
