Today we’d like to introduce you to Jarrod Rector.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
This creative concept started off with a phone call from my wife, while I was at work asking what is for dinner. I told her like most spouses “I do not know, I was gonna ask you.” Well, I knew that she loved cajun cuisines and fried chicken wings, so I thought let me combined the two. Next thing you know we made some for friends and family just for fun and games. That party opened the door for other small parties and then a big decision to do a Popup Shop at HEB in Pearland. That an event was a huge hit, we sold out in 2 hours. The rest was history after that one Popup Shop.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It was not an easy road, first off at the time my wife and I had three sons under the age of 5. Second I still had a full-time job as an Electrical Designer Engineer in the Oil & Gas Industry. Third finances were very tight, we were a one-income household with three babies.
Please tell us about STUFF’d Wings.
STUFF’d Wings is specialty company that takes bone-in chicken wing and stuff it with Louisiana cuisines (Dirty Rice, Boudin and Mac Cheese). I am proud that the brand is in a category all by itself and we cannot be compared to any other wing establishment.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
If I had to start over, I would have bought NEW equipment instead of used because over time the money you used in fixing, you could just have a new one.
