Today we’d like to introduce you to Tatiwa.
Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
Visual arts have always been a part of my life. I learned the basic HTML in school and that led me to build my very first website, blog designs and some more websites over the past ten years. However, photography took me by a surprise, I hated being in front of a camera, had zero interest in learning a photography/ camera but all that had changed when my daughter was born. I knew I wanted to cherish those moments and started capturing. I don’t even remember when I fell in love with photography. It almost becomes my second nature, it’s like another vital organ.
Please tell us about your art.
I help female entrepreneurs, creatives, and individuals create unique online presence through website design and photography. To me, designing a website is like building someone’s storybook. You focus, think, plan, and unleash your creativity while helping businesses tell their unique brand story to their clients.
I strongly believe in creating your own opportunity and not waiting for it to knock on your door. If you’re passionate about something and it keeps bugging you, you shouldn’t ignore it. Make it happen despite the obstacles. Make it happen!
What do you think about conditions for artists today? Has life become easier or harder for artists in recent years? What can cities like ours do to encourage and help art and artists thrive?
I feel that artists today have a lot more advantages given the availability of various social media platforms and free resources. While it may seem as if today’s market is very saturated with artists and artworks, not many artists know how to properly use social media. The lack of marketing and communication skills also put many artists in a difficult and awkward position. I really believe that many of us could significantly benefit from these free tools if only you can overcome the fear of rejection and learn how to connect with potential customers.
How or where can people see your work? How can people support your work?
I share my work on my website and a few other social media platforms. Would love for you to visit even if you aren’t looking for a web design or photography service. It’s always nice to get some feedback or simply get to know new people locally 🙂
