So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Ever since I could remember, I’ve had a love for shoes! I’m the person whose closet is filled with more shoes than clothes and who you can always count on to rock a great pair of shoes. Because of my love and passion for shoes, I launched an online boutique in January 2017 that afforded women the ability to wear fashionable shoes at affordable costs.
Along with shoes, R. Denise offers accessories (from clutches to shades) that help to accessorize your whole outfit. Our mission is not only to offer affordable products but also to encourage confidence in women no matter what you’re wearing! Since launching, we’ve been working to build our brand & make R. Denise a household name.
As we near our 2nd anniversary, we have so many great things planned for this year, including fun and flirty styles just in time for spring!
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Since the launch of R. Denise, I’ve learned (and still learning) so many things about business and entrepreneurship. Initially, I had no idea where to start or anything about the fast fashion industry.
As a result, I often found myself doubting my ability to take R. Denise to the level I envisioned. One of the main things I struggled with was fear! Fear of failing, fear of taking risks, fear of not being successful.
As I’ve grown, I now understand that fear is all in your mind, and you can achieve only what you think you can achieve. With that being said, I’m taking more risks, putting myself and my business/brand out there, and making strides to achieve my dreams.

R. Denise offers fashionable, affordable, and transitional shoes & accessories to the everyday woman. We are known for accessorizing you from head to toe, all at an affordable cost. Our shoes and accessories allow you to transition from day to night, work to happy hour, or brunch to date night!
A few things that set us apart from others are the unique products offered and our price ranges. Next day delivery in the Houston area is also offered if you’re in need of shoes or accessories in a short timeframe or for special occasions.
We’re most proud of the growth we’ve seen over the past two years, and being able to meet the fashion needs of so many women all while providing exceptional customer service. R. Denise has your shoe and accessory needs covered!
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
My favorite childhood memory was putting on fashion shows for my family and walking around in my mom’s heels on a pretend runway in the middle of the living room.
I would always enjoy going into my mom’s closet to try on her heels and shopping for new shoes with her as I got older. That’s how I know it’s destined for me to see my own shoe designs on the runway soon!
