Today we’d like to introduce you to Den’Trell White.
Den’Trell, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
In 2017 after experiencing one of the worst hardships of my life, I found myself down, depressed, in the dumps, broke, and struggling. One day Office Depot in Duncanville, TX called me and I would be offered a Part Time job in the Print Center. After only working there a month I was offered the Print Supervisor position and my favorite Uncle Lester Jones passed and that would open up the door for D.T. Print and Design Studio. I designed his funeral program and received so much positive feedback and it was in that moment along with the many moments at Office Depot that it finally hit me that graphic design was more than just a “hobby”, but a talent and a gift from Heaven that I was not using to its full capacity and so on July 1, 2017 D.T. Print and Design Studio was born.
We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
D.T. Print and Design Studio formats, designs, and creates a range of items from business cards, to logos, flyers, yard signs, and invitations for all occasions. The message and mission of D.T. Print is that we create “Some Really Refreshing Work!” In everything we design it is our goal to deliver work that wows our customer every time. Den’Trell White the owner has a very creative and always thinking mind that is always willing to go to the unknown to be “different”.
The sterotype of a starving artist scares away many potentially talented artists from pursuing art – any advice or thoughts about how to deal with the financial concerns an aspiring artist might be concerned about?
The biggest advice I can give anyone out there struggling to focus on their artwork due to financial concerns is to TAKE RISKS! It cost money, time, sleep, energy, friendships, and a lot of sacrifice to take your brand to the next level. Sometimes you may lose money on an order or sale, but the bulk of the orders I lost money on ended up making me money in the end: Repeat Business and Referrals. When you treat customers right they will come back, spend more money with you, and recommend you to others.
Do you have any events or exhibitions coming up? Where would one go to see more of your work? How can people support you and your artwork?
Our website is in the works, but for now D.T. Print and Design Studio’s portfolio of work that is consistently updated can be seen on Facebook and Instagram by simply searching using our company name and our logo is the profile picture for both sites. Our website will be up and running at the end of fall and we invite everyone to check us out!
