Check Out Nia Ford’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nia Ford.

Hi Nia, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My journey into beauty began with admiration—watching the women in my life, especially my mother and grandmother, express themselves through simple beauty rituals. A swipe of lipstick, the gentle press of a curling iron, the way they carried themselves—it was magic to me. I didn’t know then that those small moments would one day become a lifeline.

When I was 15, I experienced a physical assault that shook me to my core. In the aftermath, I struggled to feel safe in my own body. Beauty became my refuge. Sitting in front of a mirror, brushing on foundation or blending eyeshadow wasn’t just about makeup—it was about reclaiming power, healing, and reminding myself that I was still here, still worthy, still whole.

That experience gave my love for beauty a deeper purpose.

I started iBlessFaces Artistry not just to enhance faces, but to help women feel seen, confident, and celebrated—because I know how powerful that transformation can be. What began with weddings and special events evolved into a fuller calling: beauty education. I kept meeting women who had drawers of products but no idea how to use them—or who hadn’t changed their routine in 10+ years and wanted a fresh start.

Today, I offer more than makeup services. Through bridal packages, in-studio and travel appointments, and my hands-on beauty bootcamps, I guide women back to themselves—teaching them how to simplify beauty and show up confidently, whether it’s for a wedding, a work presentation, or just day-to-day life.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road—but I believe the bumps have shaped the mission just as much as the milestones.

While I didn’t have a traditional roadmap, I did come from a rich lineage of Black business owners on both sides of my family—people who took up space in their industries with so much grace. After the slaves were freed, my family owned a general store, which eventually helped them buy land and build a legacy. That kind of resilience and vision runs in my blood. So while I may not have had step-by-step instructions, I’ve always known I was called to build something that would make an impact on my community.

The biggest internal struggle? Trying to find myself—who is Nia Ford and how does she show up? I had to navigate the tension between surviving and thriving, and that journey brought me face-to-face with my faith. The shift happened when I realized this business is so much bigger than me—it’s ministry. That’s actually why the “i” in iBlessFaces is lowercase. It’s a reflection of humility and a constant reminder that this is God-led, not ego-driven.

Of course, burnout showed up, especially in the early years. In the beauty world, you’re expected to pour from a full cup while yours is still dripping. I’ve had to unlearn hustle culture and choose intentional growth—building a rhythm that allows me to serve well without losing myself in the process.

Now, everything I do—whether it’s bridal beauty, education, or mentorship—is rooted in purpose. I’ve gone from chasing perfection to walking in alignment, and that’s the true glow-up.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?

What I’m most passionate about—and most proud of—is empowering women through beauty. I don’t just apply makeup; I help women become masters of their own glam. Many of my clients come to me feeling overwhelmed, stuck in old routines, or unsure about how to use the products they already own. I meet them where they are and teach them how to build confidence with beauty that’s simplified, strategic, and personal.

What sets iBlessFaces apart is the heart behind the brush. My approach is rooted in education, encouragement, and empathy. I want every woman to feel seen, supported, and powerful—whether she’s walking down the aisle, showing up for a business meeting, or simply showing up for herself.

My work is about more than beauty—it’s about transformation. And there is nothing more beautiful than a woman who feels confident in her own skin.

Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
There are so many meaningful ways to work with, collaborate with, or support me on this mission. Right now, my heart is set on connecting with 50 women over the next 90 days—women who feel stuck in their beauty journey and just need the right support to feel confident, refreshed, and put together.

If you know a busy mom, businesswoman, or someone who’s ready to ditch the overwhelm and finally learn how to use the products they already own—I’d love to connect with her.
