Check Out Texas Lane’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Texas Lane.

Hi Texas, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
“I was raised by my grandmother, and I’ll never forget the time we had a plumbing issue in the backyard. A big-name plumbing company came out and quoted her $3,500—back in 1994, that was a lot of money, almost the equivalent of $10,000 today. Thankfully, a family friend, who was a plumber, came by, worked for just two hours, and fixed the issue for only $75. That moment really stuck with me, and it sparked my fascination with plumbing. I started working with him soon after, and now, 30 years later, I’ve built my own plumbing business with the same dedication to honesty, hard work, and fair pricing. It’s been an incredible journey, and I’m proud to offer the same care and commitment to my customers that I saw in that friend of the family.”

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Operating a small family plumbing business often presents a unique set of challenges. Beyond the demanding physical labor and unpredictable emergency calls, these businesses frequently grapple with fierce competition from larger corporations, the struggle to attract and retain skilled labor in a tight market, and the constant need to adapt to evolving technologies and regulations. Managing cash flow, marketing effectively on a limited budget, and balancing work-life demands can also prove particularly difficult when the business relies heavily on the expertise and dedication of a few family members.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Plumbing is a vital skilled trade that focuses on the installation, maintenance, and repair of water, drainage, gas, and other piping systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. Far from just fixing leaky faucets, plumbers play a critical role in public health, safety, and comfort by ensuring efficient and sanitary water supply and waste removal.
