Conversations with Vicki Sandel

Today we’d like to introduce you to Vicki Sandel.

Hi Vicki, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
After 20 years in the medical industry & I was over the 8 to 5 life. I’ve given up so much valuable time with my kids & I wanted to be more present for them. I’ve always loved the idea of a “food truck” but I wanted to be different. Event planning is a passion so I came up with the idea of a mobile bar trailer. You often see vintage campers & horse trailer bar conversions but I wanted something different. I didn’t just want to be another “mobile bar,” I knew I needed to provide something that didn’t exist in Houston or even Texas for that matter. I woke up one day with the idea of a walk-in mobile bar in a utility trailer, went and bought the trailer a few days later and Texas Swig Rig was born. It took about 2 months for us to build it out & my significant other and I did it all ourselves (with the exception of the electrical). I wanted this to be a family affair & my kids are very excited to help us make this a success. I love being around people having fun and what better way than to provide a unique experience in our sophisticated mobile bar trailer!

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Construction of anything always has its challenges but for the most part, the process has been smooth. We have so many supportive friends & family that are cheering us on to success.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I have been a Practice Administrator in the Fertility world for almost 20 years. I oversee the operations of the largest fertility practice in Texas. I currently manage 21 doctors, 16 locations & 100+ employees.

I also have been a real estate agent for about 8 years. I get to help people find their dream homes & be a part of such an important moment in their life.

Within the last year, I helped my significant other starts his own construction company & which has taken off and been very successful.

And now because I just can’t sit still, I own a mobile bar business!

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
I honestly can’t think of anything. I’m a huge extrovert so there isn’t much that I’m not completely transparent about.
