Nnenna , we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started back on Tumblr in high school creating content as a way to express my individuality and creativity through my unique hairstyles and fashion. I always had dreams of acting and producing but thought the corporate route would make the most sense after college so I really delved into the marketing world scoring internships at Google and Viacom. All the while still creating content and then one day I made a funny video with my dad that went viral and even ended up on The Shade Room, which was a pretty big deal back in 2018. As time went on I started to realize there was real money in the creator economy so I started to take it more seriously and before you knew it I became a full-time content creator.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has not been a smooth journey at all as the alogrithm is always changing and there are tons of new creators now ever since TikTok exploded. Also being an influencer isn’t stable since majority of our income comes from brand partnerships so one month there may be tons of deals and then the next 3-6 months or even longer there’s nada. Plus my content being primarily comedy doesn’t help as it isn’t a really lucrative niche in the influencing world so that pushed me to start incorporating more lifestyle into my content strategy.

I’m a lifestyle and comedy content creator or influencer, whichever terms works best. I stand out by invoking my personality and humor into my storytelling.
