Hi Sidney & Alisha, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers.
Sidney has always found joy in the kitchen; we have always hosted family and friends due to everyone always looking forward to eating at our home. One day many years ago God gave Sidney a vision of one day starting a business and opening a food truck. He started off gradually with simply making different dishes and selling plates where he worked for years, everyone absolutely loved his food and looked forward to what he would offer next. It was his desire to one day retire our parents and give back to the community. Finally, we stepped out on faith, and we embarked on the journey to open a food truck. Our food truck introduces a unique Build-A-Burger concept alongside classic Southern cuisines. Our dream is to one day establish a brick-and-mortar restaurant and expand our fleet of food trucks all while continuing to serve and bless those in need.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The road definitely has not been easy, we have experienced so many ups and downs. We have faced many obstacles from finding the right location, choosing the right menu items, knowing how and when to select the right events, and even with finding our target audience…
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Build-A-Burger Food (formerly Blessed & Highly Flavored)?
We started our food truck 3 years ago. We are the operator and owners. Something that you should know about us is that my husband Sidney and I come from a background of great cooks. Our families absolutely love to cook. We use fresh ingredients on our truck, even our burgers we offer 100% fresh meat, this is what I would say sets us apart from others. We would like them to know that we believe in using the finest ingredients, so you can feel good about what you’re eating. In addition to knowing that, we offer the option to build your burger just how you would like it. Lastly, we believe in quality, quantity, customer service first and the price last. It is important to us that every customer walks away from our truck happy with our service and completely satisfied when they bite into their meal. We cook and serve our customers the way we would like to be served.
What makes you happy?
Seeing my customers happy and getting feedback of how much they love our food and service.
Why? Because this is our ultimate goal, we believe in treating and serving others like we would like to be served and pleasing our Heavenly Father. It is so gratifying to see our customers return and read the reviews.
