Today we’d like to introduce you to Marquitta DaSahe’ Johnson.
Hi Marquitta, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
In 2014, in Houston, Texas, I launched my first venture—an online women’s clothing brand called House of Divahs Boutique—right out of the trunk of my car in Houston. This bold step marked the beginning of a journey that would see the brand flourish into a six-figure business. By early 2019, I had expanded into my first brick-and-mortar location, having self-taught the intricacies of social media marketing, sales, email marketing, branding, and merchandising.
Despite the thriving business, I continued to work part-time in the corporate world and discovered I was pregnant—a revelation that added both joy and complexity to my life. As the business grew, so did the economic challenges, exacerbated by the unforeseen global pandemic in 2019. These were formidable, but they were also moments of profound personal and professional growth.
Faced with mounting business expenses and a shifting economic landscape, I found myself at a pivotal point. The situation intensified when my corporate job came to an unexpected end. This closure, however, opened another door: I pivoted to launch a coaching and consulting business, drawing on my accumulated expertise.
This new chapter led to the creation of Mommies Making Millions™—the number one community for faith-driven entrepreneurial moms. This community champions mothers who, like me, refuse to be confined by the stereotypes of being “just” a mom. Instead, we are powerhouses in our industries, relentlessly pursuing the callings God has placed in our hearts.
My brand evolved into a movement, and I developed the Mom to Millionaire 12-Week Accelerator. This program empowers faith-driven moms to master their signature offers, establish themselves as authorities, and launch premium, high-ticket offerings. My goal is to help moms make millions from the comfort of their couch while still being fully present for their family. This initiative was more than a business pivot; it was a blend of my professional skills and personal life, allowing me to generate revenue while embracing motherhood fully.
From selling clothes out of a car trunk to empowering millionaire moms, my journey is a story of unwavering faith and the unyielding pursuit of one’s purpose, demonstrating that with resilience and the right strategies, any dream is within reach.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Throughout my entrepreneurial journey, I’ve faced several big challenges that really tested me and made me grow.
One of the toughest parts has been learning to walk in my calling. When your path doesn’t look like anyone else’s, you often have to figure things out on your own. This meant I had to be okay with leading the way and sometimes walking the path alone. Building up the strength to keep pushing forward in uncharted territory has been a major part of my journey.
Another big challenge has been learning to trust God’s timing. It’s easy to want things to happen right now, but I’ve learned that things don’t always work out when we want them to. Staying strong in my faith and keeping my eyes on my goals has helped me keep going, especially on the days when I felt like giving up.
Lastly, bouncing back after setbacks has always been hard. I think many people can relate to this. On my platform, I try to be open about both my successes and the tough lessons I’ve learned. Finding the right mental space to move forward when it feels like you’re carrying the weight of the world isn’t easy, but it’s necessary.
Each of these challenges has taught me a lot about myself and about life. They’ve made me not just a better entrepreneur but a better person. Sharing these experiences helps connect and strengthen everyone in my community—we learn and grow stronger together.

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
I have a deep passion for traveling and exploring new places; it fuels my creativity and broadens my perspective. I also cherish diving into a good audiobook, which allows me to absorb new ideas and stories even when I’m on the go. But perhaps what I value most are those quiet moments where I can simply sit in silence and let my thoughts wander. My mind is always buzzing with ideas—so many that it can feel like a whirlwind. Being able to sit and think is not just a respite; it’s a crucial part of my process. It’s what people value in my consulting and coaching: the ability to distill complex concepts and brainstorm innovative solutions.
Spending time with my family is another cornerstone of my life. Whether we’re sharing a meal, taking a walk, or just lounging around at home, these moments ground me and remind me of what’s truly important. They recharge my spirit and inspire me to keep pushing forward in my professional endeavors.
