Meet Brad Akers of Elevated Solutions Marketing LLC in Memorial

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brad Akers.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I started out my life in the construction industry working for an amazing home builder, Partners in Building, as a summer intern. I fell in love with construction very quickly and knew that it was the career path I would take.

Upon graduating College in 2016 after a victory lap, I joined a roofing distribution company as a Manager in Training, and nine months later, went on to be a Territory Manager (fancy title for outside sales). In that role, I had the opportunity to work with many businesses, big and small, in the roofing industry. I loved it and I loved learning about the inner workings of my customers’ businesses. I saw a huge gap in contractors’ client acquisition process and I decided to really dig into it and see if I could find a better way.

I realized leveraging technology, creating a brand, and using a company’s online presence as a whole was what I believed to be the most effective and sustainable way to grow a roofing company in today’s world. That is why I started Elevated Solutions Marketing and it has been exciting, fun, challenging, and rewarding all in the same breath

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has and it hasn’t. Understanding the mind of a contractor from my three years working directly with contractors as a sales rep in distribution has helped greatly, but the transition was not as smooth as I originally expected.

It is a different sale to the same customer I am used to dealing with, obviously. But I don’t have a large company backing up my product or services anymore so I had to put a lot of work into making the process smooth and user-friendly. Most contractors get multiple calls a week asking if they are interested in buying digital marketing services of some sort so getting over the barrier of “just another agency” and really differentiating our company is hugely important. That has been the biggest challenge, but also the most fun piece of the puzzle.

Please tell us about Elevated Solutions Marketing LLC.
We are a digital marketing company with a specialization in home improvement contractors and construction-related companies. We help our clients build their online presence into a revenue-generating machine through web design, SEO, Facebook/Instagram Ads, Pay-Per-Click Ads, reputation management, and social media content.

I think the thing that I am most proud of and that sets us apart is our deep understanding of the construction industry. A lot of agencies know that it is a profitable industry to run lead generation in due to the high ticket nature of the businesses within, but we came from the construction industry and have worked with many many contractors before the company even was an idea. That understanding helps us know the best ways to communicate and make the process smooth for our clients, and therefore helps us collaborate with them to create the best campaigns to get them business!

We also are able to work with companies in industries outside of construction. We have created a system that can be plugged into the framework of many different types of B2B and B2C businesses.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
Narrowing it down to one memory is pretty hard for me, but overall just being a young kid running around with my neighborhood friends during the summers. We always were getting into trouble of some sort and always having a great time.
