Meet Everett Armstrong of LEGION Sports Performance and Fitness in Spring

Today we’d like to introduce you to Everett Armstrong.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Everett . So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
While serving in the United States Air Force I developed a passion for the game of volleyball, Shortly after my separation and amidst my 9-5 jobs as a Service Manager I began coaching club volleyball in 1996. Throughout my seasons I thought it would be great to train athletes and aid in their development as well as working with adults wanting to improve their overall health. With this dream in mind, LEGION Sports Performance and Fitness was formed in 2013. I truly desired to help athletes reach their full sports performance potential and adults reach their fitness goals. Like some independent trainers, I started training out of my garage, until an opportunity arose for me to have a section in the facility where I was coaching. In January 2016, I left “Corporate America” to coach volleyball and train athletes full-time. Having a good reputation was a key element to establishing and maintaining great clientele,

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Marketing was a challenge! Trying to expand my client base was tough! The cliche “you have to spend money to make money” is all too true.

Also, having a entrepreneur spirit is imperative. There are no days off when trying to build a business. I believe that spirit must be a portion of your DNA.

LEGION Sports Performance and Fitness delivers top-notch fitness and sports training to assists clients in surpassing their performance and fitness goals. Tailoring programs to all ages and fitness potential in an effort to improve athletic performance, stress reduction, flexibility and weight management. LEGION Sports Performance and Fitness displays an unceasing passion for educating every client to accomplish ultimate performance, through discipline and repetition.

Specializes in volleyball skill enhancement, instruction, sports performance and fitness. Also, a National Association of Sports Medicine (NASM) Certified Personal Trainer and Performance Enhancement Specialist.

What are you most proud of as a company? Getting a high five and a thank you…every day!!! There’s nothing better than being appreciated for what you do!!

What sets you apart from others? I’m genuine!! No gimmicks…dedication, discipline and determination yields results.

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
My wife has been my biggest supporter! She’s the one that said “pursue your dreams because you are great at what you do!”

Damon Nelson (R.I.P) – Introduced me to the club volleyball arena. He said, “Wanna coach volleyball?” “No” I said.
“You’ll get paid, travel and clothing.” “PAID?!! sign me up!!” Without him, none of this would have begun.

Woodlands Revolution Volleyball club initially opened the door for me to get LEGION going. They gave me a space as well as an opportunity to fulfill a dream.

TAV Houston/The Competitive Edge whom opened the doors wide when circumstances changed for me and has committed to growing LEGION in efforts to grow their presence as an organization.

All of my clients/athletes and players…they trusted me!!
